Peak color has passed throughout much of Georgia; however, hiking trails are still beautiful.  Orange, red and yellow leaves now blanket footpaths, making it fun to shuffle your boots along the trail, crunching the brown leaves and acorns underneath.  Without leaves on the trees, hikers can see further through the forest, observing rock outcrops, tree shapes, waterfalls and wildlife that would have been hidden.  For this reason, even winter is a great time for hiking.
